Q. What's the best way to attract buyers?

A. Use a Realtor®.

The facts speak for themselves. The sale of your home should be handled by a professional. Throughout this book, we'll give you much of the information you'll need to sell your home. However, keep in mind that if you're considering selling it yourself, getting the job done right requires a full-time commitment. Here are some facts, from a study conducted recently by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, that you may find of interest:

FACT: More than 8 in 10 home purchases are through a real estate professional.
FACT: More than 8 out of every 10 sellers surveyed employed the assistance of a real estate professional to sell their home.
FACT: The longer the selling time, the greater the difference between the asking and selling price.
FACT: When sellers list their home with a real estate professional, the house is typically on the market for 8 weeks.
FACT: Nearly 7 out of every 10 home sellers would use their real estate broker/salesperson the next time they sell their home.
FACT: 50% of all assisted sellers placed the most importance on knowledge and competence when selecting a Realtor®.
FACT: 52% of all for-sale-by-owners (FSBO) decided to try to sell their home themselves because they didn't want to pay a commission to have someone else handle it for them.

While there is no sure-fire way to attract the right buyer for your home, Realtors® know the best ways to represent you because selling houses is their full-time job! Still thinking about "giving it a try yourself?" Then keep reading...
