2007 MLSLI™ LEADERSHIP NAMED
Donald Scanlon President
January, 2007 - West Babylon, NY - The Multiple Listing Service of Long
Island, Inc. (MLSLI™) has recently named a new Executive Committee.
Leading the MLS of Long Island is incoming President, Donald Scanlon.
Scanlon was installed during the recent Installation Gala held at the
Crest Hollow Country Club.
After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1969 with a degree in education,
Scanlon started in the Real Estate business in 1984 as a part time agent while
still teaching school.
By 1986 he received his broker’s license and became manager of
an office, and in 1987 he became the owner/broker of Your Home Realty/Century
21 Your Home in Wantagh, which then merged with Century 21 American Homes,
where Don remains one of the owner/brokers.
Don has served as an MLS Director from 1997 to 1999, 2002-2003, MLS
Treasurer in 2004, and Vice President for Nassau for 2005 and 2006. He
has and still serves as a LIBOR Director since 2003. Don has also
served on numerous LIBOR and MLS committees, such as Technology, Budget & Finance,
Advertising, Rules, Professional Standards, Legal Assistance, Governance,
RPAC, Legislative and most recently, as Chairperson of the Education
Committee. He has also been a NYSAR Director since 2004. Don
is currently the Vice Chairperson for the State Association Professional
Standards Committee.
Don is also a notary Public and New York State Certified Instructor
for Real Estate Licensing and Continuing Education.
Joining Scanlon on the MLS Executive Committee members are Vice President
of Suffolk, Frank Dell’Accio; Vice President of Nassau, Frank Urso;
Vice President of Queens, Mohsen Zandieh; Treasurer, Barbara Ford; Secretary
Mathew Horn.
