LIBOR Names 2006 REALTOR®-Broker of the Year
Carol Gallo-Turschmann
November 2006 - West Babylon, NY - The
Long Island Board of Realtors, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that
Realtor® Broker Carol Gallo-Turschmann has been named the recipient
of the prestigious Realtor-Broker of the Year award. The announcement
was made recently at the association’s Annual Installation & Awards
Dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Carol is the broker-owner of Bill Gallo Realty in Valley Stream and
has been an active real estate professional for 28 years. She has
been licensed since 1978 & joined LIBOR in 1986. Carol holds the
GRI & SRES real estate designations. Her experience with our
MLS, Board, State and National Associations reveals a broad range of
interests and contributions.
She has served the MLS Board for 19 years as Director & Zone 6 Chairperson
from 1987 to present and has served on numerous MLS Committees throughout
the years. Carol was the recipient of the prestigious MLS Tasso
Harismides Award in 1997.
On the LIBOR level, she has served on the Board of Directors since 2004. She
was appointed Chairperson for the Commission Escrow Act Committee in
2004, 2005 and 2006, where she has lent a tremendous amount of time and
support on the continued fight for the passage of this bill. She
has also served on the Chapter level as a Director and Vice President
and on many other LIBOR Committees.
Active on the State level as a Director since 1997, she has also chaired
a number of committees. She has served on virtually all state level
committees just as he has done on the local level and has attended almost
every NAR convention since 1994.
Carol’s community involvement is quite extensive. She was President
of the Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce in 1999-2001 and currently serves
on the Board of Directors as Past President. Throughout the years
she has been presented with prestigious awards for her outstanding commitment
to her community, among them are the Valley Stream Business Person of the
Year in 1997 and the Nassau County Council of Chambers Business Person
of the Year for 2001 for Valley Stream. Carol was appointed Honorary Chairman,
Business Advisory Council 2006, which is part of the National Republican
Congressional Committee, making sure that small business has a voice in
Washington.
